Legal Advisor Biography
Barry Watterson founded the Coogee Arts Festival in 2004 and has been the director of the festival since that time. In the past five years he has produced eight plays, developed an international short film festival (the Stinkwater! International Short Film Festival) as well as producing and developing various charitable and community events and a Guinness World Record. He has also worked (producing and appearing) on various short films and is a true believer in the unique place Australian film has in the world of film, past and future.
Barry has been a lawyer since 1998, specialising in criminal defence work. He has worked on many high profile cases (most notably the Bra Boys murder case in 2005) and has recently vetted, for legal considerations, an upcoming manuscript in relation to that court case.
