Amidst growing concern that difficult and shortsighted local councils are driving film and television production out of NSW, Premier Morris Iemma announced a “film friendly package”. Have its recommendations been adopted by local councils and other government agencies? Are local filmmakers seeing any benefits?
In an article written for NAFA’s Film page in Music Feeds magazine, a Sydney filmmaker cries foul while getting location permits for the production of a short film.
This Choc Tops Open Forum is an opportunity for all concerned to express their opinions and discuss solutions. Producers, production managers, and production co-ordinators with extensive experience dealing with local councils are especially invited to attend. At least one member of the State parliament, or their representative, is expected to attend.
