Show-Fest International 2010: Best Film winner Miha Knific to shoot in Australia

Miha Knific of Ljubljana (Slovenia), the first international winner of the Show-Fest Best Film award, will be travelling to Australia later this year to take advantage of the in-kind production support he has won.

The VIP judging panel at the Show-Fest International festival on Monday, 16 August gave the highest score to the dystopian sci-fi from Slovenia titled Lovec oblakov (Cloud Catcher), making the film the first international winner of Show-Fest’s Best Film award.

Congratulations to the screen adaptor and director Miha Knific and producer Janez Kovič. NAFA must also thank editor Blaž Čadež and production contact Anja Kuhar for their assistance across continents in the preparations for the DCI-DCP projection of their film.

As winner of Best Film for Lovec oblakov, Knific became eligible for the following prizes totalling AU$5500 in value:

In an amazing coincidence, Knific is actually able to use the in-kind prizes, right here in Australia! He is currently shooting a feature film titled Vztrajanje (Perseverance) that requires about two days in Australia, and had been planning on doing so towards the end of 2010.

Knific will now use the prize money to assist with the travel here, as well as use the in-kind support for the shoot.
