Show-Fest International 2010: Official Launch Report

RANDWICK, NSW — 28 July 2010

Karl Beattie & Ben DamonActors, filmmakers, sponsor and media braved a wet Wednesday night to attend the official launch of Show-Fest International 2010 at the Ritz Cinema in Randwick.

The night began with some funny anecdotes by Ben Damon whose film The Egg won last year’s Show-Fest.

Next Tony Chu and Sidat de Silva (Festival Directors) presented the festival’s key attributes: an industry judging panel with prizes worth $5500, an informative Q&A, and world-class cinema projection in 2K HD and 35mm film.

Johan Earl (judge and sponsor from DCP Australia) revealed Show-Fest will be the first short film festival in the world to master short films for exhibition using the DCI-DCP system.

The highlight was a screening of short scenes from the eight finalists.

We were privileged to meet with representatives from five of the six Australian finalist films.
