Guest Speaker: Serhat Caradee
Serhat Caradee comes from an extensive background in theatre, drama, and performing arts studies with training in various styles and techniques in acting. He directed and produced plays before moving to film. His experience covers all aspects of stage, TV, and film.
Serhat is an AFTRS Directing graduate whose short films have screened at over 40 local and international film festivals, winning numerous prizes and awards.
He wrote, directed, and co-produced the feature film Cedar Boys, which won the Audience Award at Sydney Film Festival in 2009. It went on to screen at five international film festivals and garnered many nominations and accolades in Australia, including AFI, AWG, ADG, and IF Magazine.
He is currently working on many projects in various stages of development with writers Lachlan Philpott, Stephen Sewell, and Nick Parsons through his company Uncovered Films and with support from Screen NSW and Screen Australia.
Serhat also teaches acting, directing, and filmmaking at NIDA, New York Film Academy, and UNSW.
