Guest Speaker: Me-Lee Hay
Me-Lee Hay’s work has been screened on multiple platforms including Netflix, SBS TV, Network Ten, cinemas across Australia, and planetarium dome cinemas all over the world.
And for the stage she has been commissioned by leading Australian arts companies such as Sydney Theatre Company and Sydney Dance Company for its PPY programme.
Me-Lee is a graduate of AFTRS and is an Associate Artist represented by the Australian Music Centre. With training in classical piano (AMusA) and cello (CMus) combined with electronica/pop explorations in the touring band scene, she is attracted to the sounds of classical textures merging seamlessly with the sounds and ambience of the modern world.
Me-Lee is published by Gaga Music and is the Vice-President of the Australian Guild of Screen Composers (AGSC).
Screen credits of note include many seasons of Luke Nguyen’s self-titled cooking show for SBS TV and as co-composer of the feature film A Second Chance: Rivals!. Upon release, Rivals! reached the top ten of the Netflix children’s category.
Me-Lee recently scored the US documentary Finding Her Beat which is currently on the international festival circuit including the prestigious Mill Valley Film Festival and DOC NYC.
