Geoff Sirmai
Geoff Sirmai
Founder of Watchdog Communications, Geoff knows what it’s like behind the footlights, having previously played the part of actor, musician, and entertainer. He’s also familiar with the rigours of writing, producing, and directing theatre.
In the world of arts publicity, Geoff’s contacts throughout the media are extensive. Having been media manager for the Australian Consumers’ Association (CHOICE Magazine) and the NSW Department of Health, Geoff went on to establish Watchdog Communications from where he has consulted widely to government, arts, community, and corporate clients.
Geoff has some 5000 radio and 500 television appearances under his belt as broadcaster, radio presenter, television reporter, and spokesman. A former reporter on ABC-TV’s “The Investigators”, senior producer in news and current affairs for the Seven Network, and ABC Radio presenter, Geoff has made over 100 appearances on the Channel 9 “Today” show, written long-running columns in The Sunday Telegraph, Better Homes & Gardens, and Women’s Day as well as having written extensively for the theatre.
Geoff is the author of the entertaining book The Confident Consumer (Allen & Unwin, 1999) and holds a BA (Hons) degree in English and Music and an MA (Hons) in Australian Drama from Sydney University.
