Guest Speaker: John Hresc
John began his audio career as a recording engineer in 1984, working with various bands and independent record labels such as Shock, Phantom, and Waterfront Records. He has over 120 credits to date.
He continued recording music of all genres, until he became an audio director at Foxtel in 1997. For the next 10 years John worked on numerous Foxtel promotions and productions, in 2006 winning Gold for sound design at PromaxBDA World in New York.
John has worked on a variety of TV promotions, programs, documentaries and animations for all three commercial networks. During his work in television he also collaborated with a number filmmakers as a sound and dialogue editor, sound designer and sound supervisor. This has resulted in 12 national and international award-winning films to date.
He is currently a member of the Australian Screen Sound Guild (ASSG), a lecturer and mentor at Sydney Film School and the Australian Institute of Music (AIM) and owner of ZerO dB Sound.
