Guest Speaker: Michael Winter

Michael WinterMichael WinterMichael is an award-winning writer, director, and producer, known in the industry for his story abilities and script structure. He is the principal of Winter-Forrest Productions.

Michael is a former New South Wales police officer, detective, Special Branch operative, intelligence analyst for SAC-PAV (Australian ant-terrorist squad), and private investigator. He’s often called in for brainstorming sessions and script doctoring, including consultancy on story realism in police and law enforcement.

Having written for all the major Australian television networks and most of the major production companies, Michael has worked across most genres over the past 27 years. He was one of the key creatives on “Blue Heelers” (Seven Network) and “Water Rats” (Nine Network), and has also written for ITV and BBC in the UK.

Michael is a full member of the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain (WGGB) and the Australian Writers’ Guild (AWG), AACTA, and the MEAA.
