Guest Speaker: David Steinhoff
David is the CEO and Head of Development at Presence Films, a privately funded concept development group with shareholders based around the world.
He lectures in concept development and most recently was a guest lecturer at the University of NSW’s Architecture — Cinema course.
Knowing what your message is, exploring theme and values through conflict, designing your characters, and creating a story engine are all techniques Steinhoff employs to empower writers.
Presence Films creates and develops what it terms ‘pocket battleships’ — mini-blockbusters such as its World War II action-romance Black Cat and the supernatural fantasy Journey of the Seeds.
Its projects are developed collaboratively through a crowd-sourcing approach to research and writing assignments.
