A scathing comedy by Chris Aronsten is brought to life at Sydney’s iconic Darlinghurst Theatre by acclaimed director Kate Gaul and Siren Theatre Co.

Six struggling artists. One call centre…

A group of call centre co-workers are secretly writing a play about their boss and nemesis Martin, in the hope of winning a playwriting competition. Little do they know that Martin has his own surprise for his dysfunctional staff — a surprise which he leaves on their desks as a parting gift and sharp wake-up call.

The Lunch Hour is a dark contemporary comedy about what we all do to get through the day — the distractions we create and the games that we play. In these beautifully sculpted characters we see ourselves, and in doing so we can recognise that sometimes the hardest part about starting or finishing anything in life is simply being ready.

Following the huge success of this year’s season at the Old Fitz of Malice Towards None and Human Resources from 2006, Aronsten has once again delivered a scathing and uncomfortably funny script that is every bit as ambitious, dark, and hilarious as his previous works. Crafted with the deftness of prolific director Kate Gaul, and brought to life by an incredible cast, The Lunch Hour is a determined production that is sure to have its audience wrapped around its little finger.

Tony Chu of NAFA will once again be unleashed on the cast and crew of the production. His popular “Show & Tell” session will be held immediately after the performance.
